Christmas Party

-

I know I say this every year but wasn’t that a great party!

The chef produced some great food and together with all the salads and desserts that everyone brought I do not think anyone could say they were not full at the end of the evening.

There was a table showing some of the toys we would be donating at Melville Woodturners charity event, together with the boxes that will be the FWWA raffle prizes at the OOTW exhibition, and a table with the polo shirts and jackets in a variety of sizes for everyone to try on.

At the break, Carolyn once again thanked all those that have been involved in the group over the past year, as

Carolyn Summarising the Year That Was

without your ongoing help we would not be as successful as we are.

We also wanted to acknowledge Kevin Luff’s involvement with our group, both as a long-time committee member and volunteer, but also someone that always has time to talk to anyone about problems with their projects or ideas on how it could be improved.

Kevin was made a “Life Member” of the Fine Woodworking Association and Carolyn presented him his new badge.

Kevin Accepting Life Membership

We asked Kevin to draw our fantastic door prizes, which were won by Nola and Bruce. Together with our winner of the “years free membership” which was won by Ivan Banks. Congratulations to all our winners.

Once again both Carolyn and I had made a commitment to make sure we spoke to everyone, but we always seem to run out of time.

Some of the Deserts

I think we all had a good time, there was some “negotiation” on who was going to get the first dish of trifle, but with all that dessert, even I gave up after going around twice.

I will have to try harder next year.
