Kumiko Box with Izutsu-Tsugi Pattern Lid and Kakuasa Pattern Trivet

When:
24th - 26th July 2026
Where:
Forrest Discovery Centre Dwellingup
For all those that missed out on our original Kumiko box workshop we will be presenting the traditional Japanese woodworking technique of Kumiko and whatever your skill set you will complete a beautiful geometric pattern insert into a Jarrah box.
We have designed a completely new box layout to suit the Kumiko pattern which will include making your own Jarrah box with mitred joints and contrasting keys, together with understanding the need for a story stick and how it helps constructing the pattern.
These workshops are always entertaining and very sociable occasions, so with limited spaces available send an email today to reserve your place.
Note: With five instructors available, it’s a brilliant opportunity to learn new skills and get personalised tips for your project. Spots are limited, so you'll need to email them quickly to snag a place.
