Life member Ian presented his recent exploration of marquetry, detailing the processes he has developed for veneering and box construction. Drawing inspiration from quilting and needlework, Ian demonstrated how he adapts these patterns for veneer. A significant portion of the demonstration focused on the evolution of his methods.

Decorative effects workshop was a stunning success

Focused on the art of "Decorative Effects," the workshop saw members diving deep into techniques that elevate a piece of timber from a functional object into something truly special. Whether it was experimenting with surface textures, exploring traditional inlay methods, or refining finishing techniques, the focus was entirely on precision, patience, and attention to detail.
